To assist in meeting the minimum requirements of the OHS Regulations the University has set up contracts with the following preferred suppliers.  Click on the links below to purchase on-line:

Benefits of the Preferred Suppliers

There are numerous benifits in obtaining chemicals from the preferred suppliers, some of which are listed below:

• Meeting OHS requirements - reporting received from the suppliers significantly reduces the workload required for the University to meet its legislative requirements;
• Cost savings - establishing these contracts has enabled the University to obtain the best value for money by leveraging its combined purchasing power;
• Time savings - as the work has already been done to ensure best price, there is no need to seek multiple quotes for the supply of chemicals;
• Building partnerships - buying as a combined organisation rather than a number of smaller units has ensured the University is treated as a key partnership customer with dedicated staff for managing its account;
• Access to additional services - as a partnership customer the University has access to free services such as safety training and compliance audits;
• Delivery requirements - all suppliers have agreed to the University's delivery requirements to improve safety.

How do the Preferred Suppliers assist in meeting OHS requirements?

The most important aspect of the preferred supplier agreements is their committment to providing regular reports on the chemicals that the University has purchased.  These reports are sent to EduSafe and used to meet legislative requirements as explained in the following flowchart:

Requirements when purchasing outside the Preferred Suppliers

Areas must ensure the minimum standards are met when products cannot be obtained from the preferred suppliers.
