Overview
Hazardous substances are chemicals and other substances present in the workplace that have the potential to harm the health of persons, causing illness or disease. This general definition also includes dangerous goods and poisons. Biological and Radioactive agents are covered under different guidelines.
Common examples of hazardous substances include toners, cleaning products, paints, fuels, herbicides, and laboratory chemicals.
